Can't help thinking what a dangerous policy it is having our only two fit proper fly halves on the pitch at the same time especially last night with Joey going off injured. Not as though we are short of specialist centres. I spent best part of an hour hoping Andy Goode didn't pick up an injury.

Decent win though boys fought hard but yet again execution in oppostion red zone very poor.

I know he wants to play centre but Josh M can cover the 10 shirt. But agree. It is risky business.

Oh briliant, according to Evening News Joey out until January. What a great idea to play our only two fit fly halves in the same game.

DURRRRRRRR.

Not quite sure what your problem is. Are you saying we shouldn't play players in case they get injured?
It makes no difference that both fit fly halves are on the pitch together.

I'm not a fan of JC at 12 - not because I don't like the chap or think he's talented, just because I think we have better options for the position - but, on the field or off of it, injuries are a probability in the game. If Goode was injured with JC on the bench we would still only have 1 fit fly half. And the likelihood of both players coming off short in the same game is very low... What I would say is that 12/13 is a more attritional position than 10, and that risk probably should be considered.

Moving on from that debate however, and thinking about cover for our 10's in general, has there been any news on Danny Grey and his injury? And if the rumors are true that Matavesi is vying for the 10 shirt for Fiji I think we may have some other cover options at Fly Half... After all I felt his tactical kicking on Friday night was pretty handy (for the most part). I wonder how others would feel about that as a possibility?

I'm not a great fan of Carisle at 10 or 12, but leaving that aside, I think we are likely to see JM in the stand-off position at some stage this season. As I understand it, all players are rested at least once during the season, so whether injured or not, Andy will miss at least one game. Could be Josh's chance to impress!

Guess you are in for another worrying night at Quins with our current reserve(only fit) fly half on the pitch with Andy Goode!!!!!!!

All I am saying is we now have one fit regular fly half because of Mr Hills "experiment". Here is hoping Goodie stays injury free. Just imagine going in to the Welsh game on 21/12 without a specialist fly half. And please don't include Josh in the equation - he is a centre and a pretty good one at that.

In business life it is generally referred to as Risk Analysis ie: Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Also don't forget Gray hasn't played for a long time has he????

Theyseekhimthere,
The problem I have with your argument is that JC's injury had nothing to do with "Hills experiment" as you put it.
The fact that by playing both of our fly halves at the same time would have been no different to JC starting at10 with AG on the bench.
I'm not sure if you are just using it as an excuse to have a go at Hill or JC or both, but to criticise a head coaches selection tactics on the basis of an injury is mad. You simply can not keep players tucked away and not play them just in case the first choice gets an injury.

I'm thankful that, with one or two adjustments, RH has kept the same side as last week and retained Percy as captain. Come on you Warriors :smt035

Whilst you can debate the merits or not, of picking players out of position (personally I'm not a fan), the bigger picture is that the side has more strength in depth now, on and off the pitch, and so you could argue that RH is doing something right. A result against Quins and a win against Welsh will set things up nicely for the second half of the season and maybe even stronger new additions next year.
